With a dense programme of early, new and experimental music, installations and performances, the Musikfestival Bern 2021 was dedicated to the idea of "swarms" (Ger. schwärme). From 1st to 5th September 2021, the animal, the neural, the galactic and all other kinds of swarms were transformed into music, whilst a place was created for the emotional, for admiration and desire. Innovative concert formats, surprising programming and a wide range of educational offerings gave attendees from near and far something to "rave about" (Ger. schwärmen [verb] = to swarm, to rave about).
